Long Form Track

Using the tools learned in HSI's core Track, this track offers improvisers a chance to explore another incredibly fun side of improv - long form. With many different styles, formats, and genres - an education in long form improv is a great way to creatively engage and grow.

Long-form: Level One is a class that serves as an introduction to long-form improvisation. In this class you will learn how to create scenes, characters, and monologues all mined from different types and sources of inspiration. Additionally, students will begin learning how to string together and edit scenes on their own.

Level One is an 8 week class with a showcase on the same day following the final week of class. All classes run for two hours and doors open 15 minutes before class each day.

Prerequisites: You must have completed Houston School of Improv’s Level Three course to enroll in Long-form: Level One.

Students are required to see at least TWO GFT shows before Week 8. Admission is free, and will be noted at Box Office.
